KnowledgeMatrix Plus (KM+)

• KnowledgeMatrix Plus (KM+) is the software that,
  through extracting data from the database of academic papers and patent documents,
  • 1) supports data preprocessing by means of the reduction and extension of data, extraction of the Korean and English nouns, stemming, thesaurus, etc,
  • 2) creates various forms of 1-mode and 2-mode matrices, and
  • 3) analyzes and visualizes scientometric networks in Pajek, VOSviewer and Gephi with the matrix data produced by KM+.
• In the network analysis including analyses of academic papers and patent documents,
  a significant amount of time is required for data preprocessing, matrix creation,
  and creating the input data suitable for the network software.
  By systemically supporting this entire process, KnowledgeMatrix Plus (KM+) allows for diverse
  network analyses based on academic papers and patent documents as well as the analysis
  of research trends through creation of the paper map and patent map.
• While KnowledgeMatrix released by KISTI in 2007 was developed based on Windows XP,
  KnowledgeMatrix Plus (KM+) ver.0.80 is Java-based to enable users to use the software
  irrespective of the operating system.
